What's the Big deal? - Seed History: Tifton 9
This week we're gonna be talking about a grass that has grown very popular. The famous Tifton 9 Bahia Grass Seed. What most people don't know, is that Tifton is a form of Pensacola Bahia Grass Seed, that was originally bred in Tifton, GA by the USDA-ARS and the University of Georgia Coastal Plain Experiment Station. Tifton 9 is also well adapted wherever Pensacola Bahia Grass Seed is grown. Tifton 9 yields more forage than Pensacola Bahia Grass Seed from the same inputs. It's greater seedling vigor is actually able to facilitate quick establishment and permit the development of sod based rotations, or at least that's what most farmers say. That's this week's "Big deal", thanks for reading!

Planting Zoysia Lawns: Part One
For starters, I absolutely love this seed. It's very much a flourishing and beautiful grass, and when it blooms, it's very bright and a warm dark green. First off, you're going to want to plant in the spring/summer time. Even here in Florida, we have some form of winter, so we commonly plant around March. But you really have to be careful with where and when you plant. Planting in a lawn that already has some other form of grass growing can cause issues with your Zenith Zoysia growth. Your best bet is planting in bare soil, and in a streak of mildly warm weather to get the best results. Same precaution should be taken when planting plugs as well. Make sure you water regularly, but stay conservative. Being green in this day is very much encouraged and is simple on our part. We really hope this first bit of advice helps.
